Qemu 1.4.1 released

The source code is here.

For those wondering, I have a win32 build of 1.4.0 but it is on a hard disk that I can’t use now as I’m currently living on a boat.  Which has been fun, but the only catch is the cheap power supply is 220v and the boat is 110v.  Plus I don’t have a monitor.  I should be leaving for Japan in a few weeks, so I can get a new power supply and monitor there as I plan on spending two months.

I haven’t forgotten or moved on, I’m just still on my big vacation thing.

Hong Kong has really been great, I’ve met some fabulous people out here.  If I could get a job here I’d move here in 5 minutes (well I’d just find an apartment as I’m already here…) The place is awesome, I’d recommend anyone to check it out.  But I don’t speak Mandarin or Canto so that won’t be happening.  🙁

I’ll try to do a small best of photos out here, but sadly the weather hasn’t been cooperating too well, and pollution has been off the chart… but really its a great place! .. !

In other news, I’m sure you’ve all read about the internet archive having a massive collection of software.?  Really good news as so much old stuff, besides the shovel ware gets disappeared.

So yes, I’m still alive, just .. been somewhat unavailable.

All nodes are recovering except Breck and Pike both KVM nodes.  We are investigating why they have not come back online and am en route to look at them physically.

The VPS management node appears to not have powered up on it’s own due to a bios setting will turn that on as soon as I get there.

Earlier we had thought the power on one side dropped, but it’s apparent that both sides of power went down.  We have A and B side power and UPS with the datacenter so I expect a full explanation how on earth this happened and how they’re going to prevent it in the future.

Oh well, at least we are back online.

As much as I appor censorship

I’m willing to let people have their embarrassing comments redacted where needed.

Also I’ve never received a dime from any vendor or advertiser.  So what ever I have to say is mine, and mine alone.

“Just let them say whatever they want.”

You’re god damned right I will say whatever I want, and I’ll defend anyone who wants to say whatever they want.

Gamespy shuts down…

From their site:

Why is this closure happening, then? It’s a business thing, and like most business things it’s not easy to explain or understand unless you spend all day crunching numbers and paying bills. Which I don’t. So here’s the simple version that even I can comprehend: Ziff Davis wants to run an efficient, focused company, and managing several different sites that all cover videogames isn’t exactly the model of efficiency. Even though GameSpy had its own unique voice that was separate and distinct from those of our sister sites, and there has always been value in that, it’s hard to argue with that logic. Even if it does totally suck.

So yeah, another one bites the dust.

Other greats from a top ten include Byte and InfoWorld.. Oh well.
