GCC for Windows NT / Dec Alpha?

Somehow I never noticed this until making what seemed like a pointless GCC config.

You can apparently build a GCC like this:

sh configure –host=i386-winnt35 –target=alpha-winnt35

And you can get a cross compiler.

The real question is, does it work?  I don’t know I don’t have a cross assembler, linker or a target machine.

  1. Isn’t it possible to generate a cross binutils the same way? I’ve always seen those various cross compile configure options, but I don’t think I ever got an end-to-end config that worked…

    1. Id probably stick with Visual C++ 6. I found it the best by far, although the shame is that the Alpha died right after vc6 was released.
