Apparently lots of IRC servers have slightly changed their syntax, which prevents ircII-4.4 from working.
It’s a simple fix.
In server.c, the the last line of the procedure login_to_server should be:
send_to_server(“USER %s 8 * : %s”, username,realname);
That’s it!
For Xenix users, you can download the binary tar here.
As for how you’ll get it working, well…

Do you have the TCP-IP and/or Streams software packages available?
I managed to find the development kit(s) a while ago (http://www.vintage-computer.com/vcforum/showthread.php?30490-Xenix-Development-Systems) but the TCP-IP package is something I’ve not been able to find yet.
Also, any chance the above (emulated 3c503) would work in modern version of Qemu?
