  1. Have you tried this on your own X68000? More importantly, did you get it completely up and running?
I’m going to assume you’re in Japan right now or have been recently? Have you seen any X68000s in retro shops in Tokyo+Akiba/Osaka+DenDen?
I’d buy one just for A列車で行こう!

    • Wow… yeah I need to order new caps and just do mine myself. I’m 99% sure it won’t run on mine, it’s a 68000 while we hit something unknown issue on the 68000, only the 68030 works. And it needs more than 2mb of ram, at least 8mb, 12 is probably better.

I’ve only seen one in Akihabra. And it wasn’t for sale. I’ll try to find the places name.

I live in Hong Kong, so no I’m not there. But if I get my way, I’ll own an apartment in Tokyo before the end of the year….. If it doesn’t rent out at the minimum I can bounce between, there is a cool discount airline between Hong Kong and Narita.

    • It’ll never be playable on less than an 030. Even the Amiga port, which is really good, isn’t playable on less than an 030 and I think that’s in low detail mode. As for what works, display and controls. Network almost works but there are issues with the network stack that aren’t likely to ever be fixed by anyone that prevent it from actually being playable. Music and sound is out too because really, it runs like a slideshow at 40MHz.

      • If it were 1995 I’d be looking more at the Jaguar port, as it’s a straight 68000 based machine, running at 14mhz.

But it’s really pointless today… if still love to see audio and music if only completeness and an example to program the x68000… nothing practical… but this is way out of my league!!
