As far as I know, there is no re-implementation of the MSN network stuff. It died a pretty quick death as Microsoft lacking direction (again) was going to compete with AOL, but this internet thing sidelined the whole thing. And their investment in NBC a’la MSNBC gave them that common internet portal anyways so MSN was instantly redundant on launch.

The tools to make sites on MSN got spun out as Visual Interdev. I used it once back in the day to make a site, and was quite happy with it.

but the sad news is that MSN Classic as it was called before its shutdown, has never arrived to Slovenia and I never had I chance to use it, so I was always wondering did anyone write MSN Classic Server? (what protocol did MSN Classic use for login (as I tried with PPTP Server running on Windows NT 4 Server but it didn’t even recognize any data coming into it (but normal dial up wors fine in it)

or did anyone wrote AOL Server, Prodigy or CompuServe Server
