In reply to Thomas Müller. Yes, I just realized that afterwards, although I can pickup SNES USB like controllers for 700 Yen, so I'm not too bummed out about it. I haven't had ANY luck with vintage SEGA anything. It's all too weird.

There is a version with an additional adapter for several different console plugs – for the SNES as well. It’s on the first picture of the box on the right side.

I bought it and a native SNES controller, and it worked right out of the box.

The manual is available from the system’s menu in English as well (which was a nice surprise, as I read the system is available in Japanese only and prepared for some heavy translating).

In reply to bamdad. this is older than heck...(11 years!) But yes, it's SIMH running v5. A port of 32v to the ARM would be more interesting IMHO, but it's just SIMH.

I’ve been using Google translate as my crutch, and it’s been ok. Turns out you can remove carts at runtime. And you need a SD card to save rom images so you don’t have to fiddle with carts after that.

Merry Christmas to you as well! I hope you have a blast inTokyo.I spend half my time in Japan but I’m not there right now. It sounds like Tokyo is different from “my” town though – stores are open to 10pm there, usually. But trains stop around 11.
I’m not really into gaming, but at least I can read a good part of what’s printed in those photos. One good thing about Japanese is that most technical material is written with a lot of Katakana, which is a phonetic writing system which is easy to learn. And a big part of what’s written in Katakana is loan words.. mostly from English. So, “MicroSD suloto”.. and so on.
