amiga people are just plain crazy and willing to spend crazy money on a platform that just has a shitty quake port and little continuity with the older platform. score one for germans in denial!

At least you can run AmigaOS 4.0 and 4.1 Classic in UAE now – considering the price for 4.1 Classic has been dropped to ~EUR 30, this might be worth a shot someday.
