You can specify a default version for the `-mcpu=’CPU_TYPE switch
by using the configure option `–with-cpu-‘CPU_TYPE.

There was also a mingw port to the Dec Alpha

I think they had a PowerPC version in progress, not sure how far they ever got. I only used the 3.51 SDK stuff on NT PowerPC.

Watcom had an Alpha compiler, it’s inside of OpenWatcom!
