My first Linux was sls-0.99 with a patch level I've long since forgotten; I contributed an install of it plus installation disks to the Bochs project in 2002. I had a look at it again tonight and found, much to my bemusement that volker was the owner of the disk files. I hadn't realized that he was behind Soft Landing Systems before he became the distribution organizer of Slackware. Just google "bochs sls" and you'll find it. Share and Enjoy!

heh, nothing like 'timely updates' ... I just remember that 13.37 version that insisted on crappy broken console fonts, even when I said no.

"A good friend mentioned that Slackware 14.1 was just released."

Funny, I use Slackware 14.1 in production for more than half a year. Hint: SL14.1 was released 2013-11-07 (see http://www.slackware.com/).

No, but I guess it should be possible to copy them onto a diskette, and read it over...

I'm still amazed I got 0.3 to compile (manually) and run, the included binaries didn't work for me.

Have you also tried an even earlier version of DOSEMU yet? 0.1 and 0.2 are just a few days older than 0.3 but I reckon it would be fun to play with the very first released version. :)
