Little fun fact about Word 5.5 there – it’s a family application, so on Windows with OS/2 personalities (like 2000) you get long file name support!

This is a limitation of the WDDM driver model. With XPDM drivers full-screen works the same as in XP.

The thing is… Actually the Aztech IDE CD-ROM Driver for NT 3.1 is just an early version of the Microsoft’s ATAPI.sys that came after bundled with WinNT v3.50.

Btw, a bug/limitation on WinNT3.1 prevents this driver to be installed at text mode setup phase. The driver can be only installed once setup has finished.

I’m pretty sure WLO was internally referred to as “porthole”, not keyhole. Because a porthole is a kind of window, right?

Actually, I tested the Aztech IDE CD-ROM driver on NT 3.1 and runs great, with the exception that the ISOs must be at least 150MB large or larger than that.
