Oh specifying the density of the drive… Yeah sadly it is, I know the fix is to tell the floppy controller that if you try to read the wrong speed/density for what the file size is, then throw an error….. Instead it just assumes you are a dumbass and succeeds reading at any density/speed.

In reply to neozeed. I didn't mean the -monitor telnet:127.0.0.1:4444,server,nowait line, I meant the stuff that you typed on the Xenix boot prompt and console. That shouldn't be necessary... or am I missing something?

oh no, it’s just so I can have Qemu’s “console” over telnet to change disks without the constant screen swapping…

Is all the command line magic really necessary? In VirtualBox all I need to do is change the floppy drive type and then the rest just works. See http://www.os2museum.com/wp/?p=465
